Slovene Partisans during the liberation of Ljubliana in May 1945. They were part of Europe’s most effective anti-Nazi resistance movement. Since February 1942 the city was surrounded by barbed wire later fortified by bunkers to prevent co-operation between the resistance movement that operated within and outside the fence. Around 90% citizens of Ljubliana supported Partisans. Note Czechoslovak ZB vz. 30 machine gun.
