Victoria Claflin Woodhull (1838-1927) was an American leader of the woman’s suffrage movement. She and her sister were the first women to operate a brokerage in Wall Street. She was the first woman to start a weekly newspaper and the first woman to run for President, in 1872, a time when most women did not even have the right to vote.
