German defeat: 16-year old Hans Georg Henke, an auxiliary, bites into a piece of bread after taken prisoner by the Americans. The shot following this, showing Hans crying over defeat, is one of the most publicized photos of the end of WW2 in Europe. The photographer was John Florea. Hans finally ended up in East Germany. If he is still alive today he is 83 years old.
