Bridge near Jambourg on the river Luga [1919] Jambourg was an industrial town founded by Catherine the Great. It was a strategic place serving as a communications nexus with its river the Luga. In 1919 during the civil war opposing White Russians and Bolsheviks Jambourg was an outpost for Narva an important supply center for the White Russians army. The Jambourg bridge was destroyed and the city was taken by the Red army in August 1919.
