An impressive view of the commander and gunner of a Panzer IV tank as part of an armored unit moving across the Russian steppe toward a road in the distance at the base of a shallow valley. Note the flare gun on the right hand hatch lid. Robust and reliable, the Panzer IV saw service in all German combat theaters, and it was the only German tank to remain in continuous production throughout the war from 1936 to 1945. It even saw combat with Syrian forces in the Six Day War of 1967.
