Sergeant Reckless delivered ammo to the recoilless rifle platoons firing sites. She would be led a few times and then could make the trip to and from the ammo dump by herself. During just one battle she made 51 trips under enemy fire most of them by herself carrying a total of 386 recoilless rounds (over 9000 pounds carrying 4 to 8 24-pound shells on each trip). She was wounded twice but didnt quit. She even learned to run for a bunker upon hearing the cry “incoming!”
