A B-17F of US 94th Bomb Group over Marienburg, Germany, 9 October 1943. On this date, the US Eighth Air Force sent 378 B-17s and B-24s to bomb Marienburg, Anklam, Danzig, & Gdynia-their longest mission to date, which allowed them to surprise the Germans.
