Anschluss sterreich (Union of Austria [with Germany]), Salzburg, March 1938: The original German caption reads: “On Saturday, when the German troops marched into Salzburg, the entire population was at a frenzy of enthusiasm. Everywhere you looked [you saw] radiant faces, and many people carried portraits of the Fuehrer, and almost all were waving swastika flags.” At least, the propaganda writer left an “almost” in there.
