Brazilian soldiers pose for photographs before shipping to war, World War II. Yes, the Brazilians did fight in World War II, in Italy against the Germans. An expeditionary forced of 25,500 men were sent in 1944. In the photo they are shown with Brazilian Mausers and their own military gear, but upon arrival in Italy they were issued M1 Garands and US Unforms (for standardization sake)
