A 274 mm/45 Model 1887/1893 railroad gun captured by U.S. troops near Rentwertshausen County of Schmalkalden-Meiningen Thuringia Germany on 10 April 1945. The 274.4 mm guns were originally French naval 10.8 inch guns of pre-dreadnaught battleships used as railroad guns by the French during the First World War. This gun was captured by the German Army in 1940.
