Charles Benedict, age 6 from Dallas, Texas, practices some first aid techniques on his patient dog Jerry. According to the November 1960 American Red Cross Newsletter: “The idea was to help promote the Dallas County Chapter’s First Aid Week. Jerry resisted the ordeal and emerged from it exhausted. Charles was tired too, but triumphant.”
