He is shown bidding farewell to Sergeant Earl V. Swift on the eve of his departure from Philadelphia. Duffy is a half-brother of Jiggs IV, official mascot of the Marine Corps, stationed at Quantico, VA. The dog is a gift from Dr. and Mrs. Frederic James, of Quaker City.”
