This photo of Marie Alexandrovna is a superb example of late 1860s dress with the cone crinoline (probably a version called a “crinolette”) and natural waistline. Her skirt flares out as a cone until almost the end where it hangs vertically in crinolette style. Her jacket bodice appears to have pockets below the waist band.
