Children at play is a good sign that normalcy is fast returning to the ghost city of Cherbourg, France. Shortly after the liberation of the port city, the children were returned to complete the picture of normal living. They had been evacuated to the St. Lo section of the Normandy peninsula, but fierce fighting in and around St. Lo forced an early return to Cherbourg.
