Airtight containers of Zyklon B, headed for Auschwitz. Containing crystalized Prussic Acid, Zyklon-B (Cyclone-B) converted to gas when exposed to oxygen. Though death by exposure to Zyklon-B was by no means painless, and could take up to 20 minutes, it was quick and efficient when compared with the carbon monoxide used at other death camps. Death by CO is slow and unreliable. Children often survived CO based gas chambers, and were shot or bludgeoned to death, or simply incinerated alive.
