Arrigo Boldrini A.K.A “Comandante Bulow” was one of the most skillfull commanders of the Italian resistance movement ( 28th Brigata Garibaldi) and the first Italian partisan to receive the Gold Medal for Military Virtue. Boldrini was the mind behind the liberation of Ravenna ( in tight cooperation with OSS and eagerly supported by Eighth Army’s Col. Wladimir Peniakoff, the daredevil commander of his own special unit known as Popsky’s Private Army).
