Two early production models of the T-34 Soviet tank lie abandoned on a country road in the Ukraine, summer 1941. The early T-34s suffered from major teething problems which often caused the tanks to break down in the field. The design was though quickly revised and production, beginning in the winter 1942, was radically re-organized. These two specimens have the halves of their hatches painted white to aid in air recognition from friendly aircraft.
