Northern France, June 1942: German soldiers during training for street fighting with French (?) captured anti-tank gun. The German high command never abandoned the fear of an Allied invasion — only missing the point of landfall. German intelligence always suggested that the most likely location for an Allied attempt was the area around Calais. The real invasion though came across Normandy’s beaches.
