The Netherlands, 1940: Petronella “Nellie” Kwikkers-Fertuin worked as a maid for a Jewish family, the Kanns. Nellie Kwikkers-Fertuin helped the family go into hiding and passed along false identification papers and other protective information. Thanks to her help, members of the Kann family survived the Holocaust.
