May 8, 1942 – Ibuki Hibi, 5, holds her doll and waits with her mother, Hisako Hibi, 35, as they stand with the family’s luggage in downtown Hayward, California. The Hibi family was being taken to the Tanforan Assembly Center. When they arrived at Tanforan they lived in a horse stall.
