Shipping off the Japanese American “terrorists” to camp — the Guantanamo of WWII. Shigeo Jerry Aso, 3, right, and his brother, Sadao Bill Aso 6, with their grandfather Sakutaro Aso, 70, were photographed by Dorothea Lange on May 8, 1942 in Hayward, Ca. as they wait for a bus to take them to Tanforan Assembly Center. Sakutaro Aso started the Mt. Eden Laundry in Hayward and sold the business before going to the Tanforan Assembly Center, Topaz and Amache Internment Camps during WWII.
