HMS Colossus. Ten Light Fleet Aircraft Carriers of the COLOSSUS Class) were ordered under War Emergency Build Programmes in 1942 – 43. These ships were not as big as the earlier Fleet Aircraft Carriers (ILLUSTRIOUS Class) and were not able to carry as many aircraft.
