It is often hotly denied that black South Africans were taken abroad as slaves, yet ample evidence exists that while there was no organised, continuous and consistent export of black South African slaves to Europe and the Americas, enough evidence does exist to show that indigene South Africans were included amongst those destined to become slaves and indentured labour abroad.
