A bomber pilot waits inside his plane somewhere in the far north. The more I look at this series of pics, the more I think these are Soviets, despite what I said earlier. They all show a frustrating lack of insignia on either plane or pilot, though on one single picture a five-pointed star can be seen on an overcoat, which might indicate they’re Russians. Whoever they are, I hope they were used to cold. In flight, temps in the unheated planes could fall to 20 below 0 or colder.
