Portrait of Princess Rafat Zamani Begum, c. 1960. Portrait of Princess Rafat Zamani Begum of Rampur (1907-1987), wife of Nawab Raza Ali Khan, taken by the famous Kinsey Brothers studio of Delhi. She wears an embroidered sari with a diamond tiara and ornate neckpiece, in European fashion. The begum traveled to Europe in the 1930s and returned with a modern outlook, including her rejection of purdah.
