General Karl Heinrich von Stlpnagel was one of the primary members of the plot to assassinate Hitler in July 1944.As soon as the bomb exploded, the general ordered the arrest of numerous Nazi officials and begged Filed Marshal von Kluge to join the the coup. Kluge refused and dismissed Stlpnagel, who tried to commit suicide but failed.He was arrested at the hospital, dragged in front of People’s Court on 30 Aug,sentenced to death and executed the same day.
