Lance Sergeant Brown of the British Eighth Army and Sergeant A Randall of the 1st US Armoured Division were the first two men to meet during link-up between the Eighth and First Armies in Tunisia on the Gabes-Gafsa Road, 7 April 1943. In “With Every Letter,” Lt. Tom MacGilliver serves in Tunisia during this time.
