8 month old Teddy Hydd is fed his ration of orange juice on a spoon by a nurse at the ‘Foster Parents Plan for War Children’ Nursery in Hampstead. According to the original caption: “Teddy, a typical war baby, slept on a platform in Oxford Circus Tube Station from 10 days onwards. Elder brother died from shelter pneumonia. Pleasant child, but susceptibility to all illnesses is due to conditions in early infancy”. 1941.
