Kholm battle – Shows a patrol in the eastern part off the city , note the destruction (and this picture was still taken in the early stages of the battle ) of the buildings. In the background we see the so called “Judentempel” which was a prime target for Russian artillery as they suspected German artillery observers in this strong stone building.
