“Chicago Tribune” World War I war correspondent Floyd Gibbons welcomed home in Minneapolis, MN. His sister Zelda is at his left. At the Battle of Belleau Wood, France, Gibbons lost an eye after being hit by German gunfire while attempting to rescue an American soldier.
