Comradeship In Vintage Photos

This 65 mile march to a prison camp was an even more inglorious stain against the Japanese. Filipinos and GIs, carrying sick and wounded comrades in litters were beaten to death during this 6 (for some, 12-) day “Death March” in searing heat. Some 10,000 died on the way, 15,000 soon after in the camp, from disease, wounds, and exhaustion.
